A lot of time and energy went into documenting company processes and a step was taken in the right direction concerning company-wide transparency – technically speaking. As is often the case, the actual users were not asked their opinions of how the processes run in real life.
The consequence: Documentation exists but no one really uses it and it basically just gets swept under the carpet.

If a process needs to be carried out, then things quickly start to escalate and get out of hand due to not knowing who is in charge of what. This is particularly prevalent for new employees. Process automation is often seen as the miracle cure. But is this actually the correct course of action in this situation? Not every single process within a company is predestined to be automated.
